    NSA’s Arc Goggle and 27 Cal Carbon Kevlar® Balaclava provide an arc rating (ATPV) of 27 cal/cm² when used in combination together. This unit has been tested as to the ASTM 2178 test method to achieve these results.

    The advantage of this hood and goggle combo is that it is a     lightweight, cost-effective alternative to the traditional beekeeper hoods that are available for category 3 protection. As you can see there is increased breathability and range of vision offered by this type of design.

    This unit has been tested as to the ASTM 2178 which covers the minimum performance criteria for arc resistance and other requirements for eye or face protective products used by workers who may be exposed to thermal hazards of momentary electric arcs or flame.

    Note: This combo is not approved in the NFPA 70E, 2009 edition.

    Arc Goggle
    NSA’s Arc Goggle is designed specifically to address the requirements of Arc Flash Protection for the eyes. The optically correct hard coated outer lens has an anti-fog inner lens to help with vision loss due to fogging, baffled top and bottom vents. An elastic strap comfortably secures the goggle to the head and hard hat. Special strap adjusters allow the strap tension to be adjusted while wearing gloves which would otherwise be cumbersome.

    Carbon Kevlar® Balaclava
    NSA’s double layer balaclava made from knit material of Carbon and Kevlar® fiber is designed with a slightly longer bib, for additional arc protection, as well as a contoured eyehole that can be worn over or under the nose for maximum comfort, without compromising safety when worn in combination with the goggles.

    Please note that both the 6.0 oz H62RK knit hood and H08GGL goggles must be used in combination to achieve ATPV 27 cal/cm² as stated above.
